Overview

Nitte Education Trust through its constituent institution, Sarosh Institute of Hotel Administration (SIHA) has been providing quality hotel management education, since 1992. In recent years, prospects for students of the traditional hotel management training programs have expanded. Besides, there is a realization that the competencies of hospitality, services management, interpersonal skills and communication skills are relevant for careers beyond the traditional “hotel management” sphere. Keeping these developments in mind & in accordance with the new National Education Policy of 2020 emphasising the need for a more holistic, industry relevant training, the BHM program offered at SIHA is replaced by a new 4-year BSc (Honors) in Hospitality Management program at NIHS.

Eligibility

Pass in Pre-University examination in any general or vocational stream conducted by the Pre-University Education Board in Karnataka or any other Board considered equivalent. The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.

Exit options as per National Education Policy 2020
On completion of six semesters of the BSc (Honors) Hospitality Management program and having met specified requirements including minimum CGPA, the student can exit with a BSc in Hospitality Management.

Admission Procedure

Students seeking admission to BSc (Honors) Hospitality Management, are required to submit the Admission Enquiry form available on the homepage of www.nitte.edu.in or through the link, apply.nitte.edu.in
On receipt of the same, the Admission Section will guide students with the process of registration and admission. Admission will be based on marks secured in the qualifying examination.

Documents required for admission(Original + 3 attested copies)

  • 10th standard marks card / pass certificate for proof of date of birth
  • 12th standard or equivalent marks card/pass certificate
  • Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended
  • Conduct Certificate from the institution last attended
  • Migration Certificate from the Board of the institution last studied
  • Eligibility Certificate issued by the Nitte University (This will be handled by Nitte)
  • Physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner
  • Blood group certificate
  • Copy of Aadhaar card of the student
  • Photographs: Recent colour photo with white background, of resolution 300-600 dpi & size 35 mm x 45 mm (PP size 5 Nos.) & size 20 mm x 25 mm (Stamp size 5 Nos.)

Commencement of Course

The course commences on the date prescribed by the University generally during the month of August.
