Children’s Day

The Department of Child Health Nursing, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences (NUINS) celebrated Children’s Day on 11th November 2025 at the Government Primary & High School, Permannur, Babbukatte under the guidance of Prof. (Dr) Sujatha R. The event aimed to promote child health awareness through educational and health-oriented activities.

An ophthalmic check-up was conducted for all the school children in collaboration with the Department of Ophthalmology, Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital. The program was successful in spreading awareness about child health and vision care among students and teachers. The ophthalmic check-up benefited 95 children, identifying 7 students with refractive error, 2 students with colour vision defect, 1 student with conjunctivitis and 1 student with congenital ptosis for further evaluation.

The event also strengthened community relations and highlighted the importance of preventive health services in schools.
