GOONJ '26, the annual inter-house cultural fest of Nitte University Center for Science Education and Research (NUCSER), was held over two days on 15 and 16 October 2026 at the Paneer Auditorium. The fest gave students a vibrant platform to showcase their talents, strengthen inter-house camaraderie and celebrate artistic expression and teamwork. Embracing the theme of Carnival, it also brought together celebrations such as Halloween, Christmas, and Garba through a variety of competitions.

The inauguration was graced by Dr. Mahesh Kumar U, General Manager, Karnataka Fisheries Development Corporation, and Additional Director, Fisheries Harbour, Department of Fisheries, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Sabitha Nayak, Principal of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, as the Guest of Honour. Prof. Dr. Anirban Chakraborty, Director of NUCSER, presided over the function. The celebrations commenced with the pre-GOONJ competitions, which included creative writing, cover design, and reel-making, giving students an opportunity to express their creativity before the main fest.

Day 1 and Day 2 featured a packed line-up of events, including classical singing, Pookalam, murder mystery, debate, face painting, Mehendi, carol singing, dance, ramp walk, movie spoof, Mad Ad, and mock press. Students from the four houses (Blue, Green, Red and Silver) participated enthusiastically, showcasing their skills, creativity, and competitive spirit throughout the fest.

A major highlight of the celebrations was Garba Night on Day 2, featuring a Dandiya folk dance competition and a Best-Dressed competition that celebrated traditional attire, rhythm, and cultural expression.

The fest ended with an open Garba session, where students and faculty members came together to dance and celebrate, bringing GOONJ '26 to a memorable close. The event was a great success, leaving participants and the audience with lasting memories and a stronger sense of unity across the houses.
