Lecture on “Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis principles, methodology and best practices”

The Department of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics, NUCSER, in association with the Department of Biostatistics, NIAHS, organized a lecture on “Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis: Principles, Methodology, & Best Practices” on 28 August 2026.

Prof. (Dr) Jayaprakash Shetty, Dean, NIAHS, the Chief Guest of the event highlighted the importance of systematic reviews and literature reviews in research. He emphasized that reviews provide a comprehensive understanding of existing evidence, help identify gaps in knowledge, and assist researchers in formulating relevant and focused research questions.

Prof. (Dr) Anirban Chakraborty, Director, NUCSER, in his presidential address emphasized the significance of systematic reviews and meta-analyses in contemporary research. He highlighted their role in bringing together available evidence in a structured manner, strengthening the scientific basis for research, and supporting evidence-based decision-making.

Ms. Yashashwini, Assistant Professor, Department of Biostatistics, NIAHS, and Dr Neevan D’Souza, Professor, Department of Biostatistics, NIAHS conducted the technical sessions.
