Virtual Hands-on workshop on Bioinformatics Training for Fisheries, Marine Biotechnology and Life Sciences – Series 1: Basics of Bioinformatics

Nitte-GoK Centre of Excellence in Aquamarine Innovation (NITTE-GOK COE|AQUAMARIN), organized a two-day workshop on ‘Hands-on Bioinformatics Training for Fisheries, Marine Biotechnology and Life Sciences’ – Series 1: Basics of Bioinformatics’ on 12th & 13th August 2025 in online mode. A total of 14 participants attended the training session. Of the total participants, 11 were from India (Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Haryana) and 3 from abroad (USA, Canada & Norway). Dr Ashwath Nayak, COE Manager, briefed about the workshop and introduced the participants to the mandate of NITTE-GOK COE |AQUAMARIN. The training sessions were handled by the project scientists of the COE team namely, Dr. Nithin M S, Dr. Kushala K B and Dr. Naveen Rajeshwar who appraised the participants about the applications of Bioinformatics in the field of Fisheries, Marine Biotechnology and Life Sciences and also on how to use these tools for their research. The hands-on training included an assessment test for the participants, which was conducted on the last day of the event.
