this context, the periodic reassessment of curricula is essential to ensure they remain relevant,
inclusive, and effective in preparing learners for both personal and professional success.
Curriculum design is not a one-time activity but an ongoing, reflective process that is
outcomes-based, learner-centered, and future-focused.
The practice:
At NUCSER, the curriculum is designed such that it aligns with societal and technological
needs with a focus on outcome-based education. Based on the stakeholder input which involves
feedback from faculty, students, alumni, industry professionals, and accrediting bodies, the
syllabus is reviewed at regular intervals of time. Ensuring curriculum meets the standards of
national qualification authorities and accreditation agencies and using performance metrics,
and research to update content, improvements are made in the curriculum.
Evidence of success:
Ms. Soumya Jaiswal from IV BSc (H) Biomedical Science, cleared the Joint Admission Test
(JAM) 2025 conducted by IIT, Delhi, with an all-India rank of 217. The consistent success of
students in clearing competitive examinations serves as strong evidence of the effectiveness of
curriculum design and review at institutions like NUCSER. As an institute focused on
preparing students for advanced academic and professional pathways, such outcomes reflect
the relevance, rigor, and alignment of the curriculum with national and global academic
standards. These achievements also validate that the curriculum not only imparts foundationalknowledge but also equips students with the critical thinking, analytical skills, and subject

The curriculum design and review process at our institution faces challenges such as
insufficient stakeholder feedback and the need for better technological support. To enhance the
effectiveness of this process, we require additional resources including dedicated curriculum
mapping tools and structured mechanisms for engaging industry and alumni in continuous
feedback.

ideas, expertise, and resources leading to more innovative and meaningful outcomes.
Networking fosters partnerships for joint research, funding, and dissemination of scientific
knowledge.
The practice:
Effective collaboration also builds long-term professional relationships that support future
projects and ongoing learning. Joint research efforts promote innovation, improve the quality
of findings, and enhance the reach and impact of scientific work. At NUCSER, faculty are
encouraged to pursue cooperative scientific activities to achieve shared research goals.
