Nitte School of Fashion Technology and Interior Design (NSFTID), in association with the Weavers' Service Centre, celebrated the 12th National Handloom Day 2026, highlighting the richness, heritage and cultural significance of India's handloom traditions.
The celebration provided an opportunity to recognise the invaluable contribution of India's weavers and to appreciate the craftsmanship, creativity and traditions that continue to shape the country's textile heritage.
The event was honoured by the presence of Smt. Pavithra Muddaya, who joined the celebration as the Chief Guest. Her presence added significance to the occasion and reinforced the importance of preserving and promoting India's handloom legacy.
The celebration reflected NSFTID's commitment to creating greater awareness of India's textile heritage and encouraging students to appreciate the craftsmanship and cultural traditions that continue to inspire contemporary fashion and design.
