Student Wellness Session: Mind Matters

Nitte Institute of Speech and Hearing organized a Student Wellness Session titled “Mind Matters” on 10th August 2026 at Chintana Hall, Justice K. S. Hegde Charitable Hospital with the objective of promoting awareness about mental health and encouraging students to prioritize their thoughts, emotions and overall well-being in their day-to-day lives.

The program provided an opportunity for students to reflect on the importance of maintaining psychological well-being and seeking appropriate support when required. The program was attended by the new batch of UG & PG students.

Dr. Shreevidya, Asst. Professor and Counsellor, Student Wellness Centre, Nitte University, along with Ms. Priya, Lecturer & Counsellor, served as resource persons for the session. The program focused on sensitizing students to the significance of mental health and fostering a positive and supportive approach towards emotional well-being. The resource persons also addressed the issue of drug abuse, creating awareness about its adverse effects and emphasizing the importance of making informed and responsible choices. The session reinforced the importance of self-care, emotional resilience, healthy decision-making and timely support.
