Alumni Interaction Session - Beyond Words: Building Skills through ABA and Speech

The Alumni Association of Nitte Institute of Speech and Hearing organised an Alumni Interaction Session on 24th September 2025 at Chintana Hall, Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital. Ms Sadaf Fareed, alumna, BASLP (2011-15) practising as a Paediatric Speech Language Pathologist in Kuwait, served as the resource person. She shared her expertise on the principles of Applied Behavioural Approach (ABA) and its integration in speech language therapy. She elaborated on evidence-based practices such as Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and Functional Communication Training (FCT). Participants were oriented on therapy applications, documentation methods and approaches to monitoring case progress. The undergraduate & postgraduate students and faculty of Nitte Institute of Speech and Hearing attended the program.
