MELAM 2026

Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy celebrated Onam through “MELAM 2026” on 29th August 2026 at the college campus. The festivities commenced with the unveiling of the MELAM 2026 banner on 24th August 2026, followed by a flash-mob performance by the students, which set the tone for the festive mood. The Student Council members and volunteers beautifully decorated the campus and premises on 28th August 2026.

The celebrations began with a Pookalam (floral carpet) competition, providing students an opportunity to showcase their creativity & teamwork which was evaluated by judges from KS Hegde Medical Academy. The spectacular Sinkari Melam with vibrant rhythms, filled the campus with festive energy. This was followed by a colourful procession featuring a ceremonial cavalcade welcoming Mahabali (Maveli).

The cultural program showcased the cultural heritage through a series of student performances. The celebrations featured Thiruvathirakali, Uriyadi and other traditional games, creating a joyful atmosphere. The winners of the various competitions were congratulated and prizes were distributed by Prof. (Dr) Dhanesh Kumar K U, Principal and faculty members.

The event was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr) Dhanesh Kumar K U and Mr. Jayesh Chandran, Assoc. Professor with the support of the Student Council members.
