PROGRAM OUTCOMES At the end of the program, graduates will be able to... PO1: Demonstrate knowledge
of infectious diseases of national importance in relation to the clinical,
therapeutic and preventive aspects. PO2: Apply theoretical knowledge of microbiology in a
variety of clinical settings to help solve diagnostic and therapeutic problems. PO3: Establish good clinical microbiological services in
a hospital and in the community, in the fields of bacteriology, virology,
parasitology, immunology and mycology. PO4: Advise and assist clinicians in methods of sample
collection, storage and transportation for microbiological investigations. PO5: Participate in the hospital infection control
programme including formulation, implementation and monitoring antibiotic
policy. PO6: Apply sterilization
techniques and aseptic measures required to contain the spread of infections. PO7: Contribute to the Biomedical waste management
policies of the institution. PO8: Conduct collaborative research in the field of
Microbiology and allied sciences and be able to perform clinical/experimental
research that would have significant impact on human health and patient care. PO9: Demonstrate effective communication skills required
for the practice of clinical microbiology and teaching undergraduate students PO10: Demonstrate pedagogical
