Mangaluru, the main port city of Karnataka, is bound by the Arabian Sea on one side and the Western Ghats on the other. Mangaluru is the administrative headquarters of the Dakshina Kannada district in the south of Karnataka.

Mangaluru is a fast-developing city in all fields viz. education, transport, industry and commerce. The city is located in the confluence of Nethravathi and Gurupura rivers. Three National Highways viz., NH-66 linking Panvel and Kanyakumari, NH-75 linking Mangaluru and Bengaluru, NH-13 linking Mangaluru and Solapur pass through the city. An international Airport is located at Bajpe, which connects Mangaluru to various cities in India and abroad.

By road
Direct and regular buses from different parts of Karnataka and nearby states (both state and private buses) are available to Mangaluru. NITTE-Deralakatte campus is about 14 kms away from both KSRTC bus stand (Bejai) and Mangaluru service bus stand (State bank circle). Direct local city service buses are available from Mangaluru service bus stand every 5 minutes.
By rail
Mangaluru is well connected with Indian railways. The nearest railway station to NITTE-Deralakatte campus is Ullal (ULL), about 4 kms from the campus. Major railway stations in the city include Mangaluru Central (MAQ) and Mangaluru junction (MAJN), about 14 kms and 12 kms respectively.
By Air
Mangaluru has its own International airport called Mangaluru International Airport (IXE), Bajpe, located about 26 kms from NITTE-Deralakatte campus, Mangaluru. Major flights from different domestic and international destinations serve Mangaluru on a daily basis. Pre-paid taxis or cabs can be hired from the airport to travel to NITTE-Deralakatte campus. The administrative block is at the 6th Floor of KS Hegde Hospital at Deralakatte, which is on the way to Mangalore University, Konaje.
