Career Guidance and Job Avenues

A talk on Career Guidance and Job Avenues was organized by the Commerce Association Committee on 03-04-2021 at the college auditorium. Resource persons for this program were Mr. Louis Manoj, Asst. Professor, Govt. First grade College, Kavoor; Dr. Raghavendra Holla, Chairman, Swastika National School, Mangaluru and Ms. Varsha, Certified Yoga Therapist and Freelance Trainer Mr. Louis Manoj handled the first session on Career Opportunities & Job Avenues. He explained about the relevance of commerce education, various career opportunities, different competitive exams, career planning process etc. He also highlighted to the students, the importance of selecting a particular career to suit their aptitude, the hard work involved in each course through some exercises, motivational stories and video clips. In the second session, Dr. Raghavendra Holla and Ms. Varsha focused on techniques for self-motivation, confidence building, positive mind and goal setting. They explained to the students about how one can program the subconscious mind to achieve success by giving some tips, and through games and motivational stories. Principal Dr. Naveen Shetty K urged the students to actively participate in the event, recognise their interests and abilities and thereafter decide on their career options. All the Commerce students attended the program.
