The birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Late Sri. Rajiv Gandhi was celebrated on 20th August as 'Sadbhavana Diwas' at Dr. NSAM PU College, Mangaluru. 

Principal Dr. Naveen Shetty K administered the oath and oriented the NSS students' and staff regarding the importance of observing 'Sadbhavana Diwas'.  He emphasized on the need to promote goodwill among people and adopt non-violent means to resolve issues. 

The following pledge was taken by all faculty of the college. "I take this solemn pledge that I will work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people of India, regardless of caste, region, religion or language. I further pledge that I shall resolve all differences among us through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence."
